Visa requirements depend on your nationality. Citizens from many countries, including the U.S., Canada, and most European nations, do not need a visa for stays of up to 90 days. However, a valid passport with at least six months of validity is required. We recommend checking with your local Guatemalan consulate or embassy for specific entry requirements.

The Petén region has a tropical climate, with warm temperatures year-round ranging from 24°C to 34°C (75°F to 93°F). The dry season runs from November to April, offering plenty of sunshine, while the green season from May to October brings occasional rain that enhances the lush surroundings.

Pack lightweight, breathable clothing for warm weather, along with comfortable walking shoes for exploring the surrounding nature and Mayan ruins. Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat are a must for sunny days, while insect repellent is helpful for evenings. Don’t forget your swimsuit to enjoy our pool or take a dip in Lake Petén Itzá!

Bolontiku Hotel is your launch-point to adventure and relaxation! Visit nearby Mayan ruins such as Tikal, Yaxhá, or El Mirador for a glimpse into ancient history. Explore the lake by kayak, paddleboat, or boat. For a more relaxed day, enjoy spa treatments, or simply lounge by the pool and take in the breathtaking lake views.
